We photographers love the light and energy of an early-waking shoot. The actual alarm-snoozing and groggy coffee chugs aside… But this morning brunch affair was so worth it.
The Brett Dorian beauty army made these girls up right and thanks to a McDonald’s run, the boys finally got into the swing of this sweet, family-filled day. (A certain assistant photographer is grateful the for the extra egg McMuffin.) The Van Dusen’s historic and elegant rooms opened to a long, lush room where Emily and John gave the kindest, most heartfelt vows. Emily adores her father and there was hardly a dry eye as he conducted the ceremony. The coziest, yummiest brunch reception followed.
After we stole some portrait time in sunny, melty Loring Park, these two hopped a plane post-haste–like the good ol’ fast get-aways after weddings–to a far sunnier and warmer climate. But how could we be jealous? They just pulled off a delightful and genuinely homey celebration that was different and perfect and all “them.” This not-a-morning-person photog is so glad to have been a part. Cheers (double espresso) to Emily and John!
