Need a timeless keepsake to keep the winter chill at bay on your wedding day? The wedding industry is ever flowing with beauty and inspiration. It’s definitely a job perk to be surrounded by all things lovely on a day to day basis! We recently had the pleasure of meeting Julie and simply had to share her creations with you. Winter brides, this one’s for you!
Julie Schuett is a local designer out of St. Paul and has been knitting professionally since 2004. It was always a way to unwind after a long day and keep a calm head on her shoulders. Being an artist, she is always up for a challenge, and ready to fit any bride’s style. Her current project is actually working on knitting an outfit for a rubber chicken (it’s long story, so we’ll spare you the details!!)
What makes Julie’s work so special, is the opportunities she has given to girls in Africa. The yarn she knits with is made there by a lovely group of women. With each purchase of the yarn, it helps give these girls a good education and a the opportunity to learn and grow.
The fiber’s of her wraps are all natural fibers, which means everyone stays warm in the cold with this soft and breathable material. Julie is involved with every piece that leaves her door. These hand made wraps and accessories have been featured on the cover of Minnesota Bride Magazine and have kept warm countless brides brave enough to weather our infamous winters!
Julie loves working with brides and bridesmaids because she enjoys being involved in a person’s story and giving them a unique piece that they can wear forever. Her favorite part of the entire process is the simple fact that she is able to share in this moment with so many people.
She has been published in Minnesota Bride, and Lavender Magazine’s Wedding Issue, and also knit 10 shawls for Joe Mauer’s wedding!
