I must beg your apologies, I have completely neglected writing about each blog post of late which is just plain rude! Rest assured, it’s on the goals list! This one however, I couldn’t post with out my typical gushing and emotional raving because there’s just too much to tell!
For starters… If you’ve been a bride of mine chances are I have emphasized the impact of finding the perfect location for your getting ready photos. Kelsey and Jason took this to heart and hit it out of the park. The men began their day at Winston’s Barber Shop in Uptown. They enjoyed a fresh shave, a few games of pool and of course, a round of Bloodies! I’m sorry but this just trumps any church nursery I’ve ever been to! The ladies began coverage in the couples charming home in Linden Hills. Both venues infused style, warmth and a very eye catching personal touch to the morning. Take notes boys and girls!
The ever popular river walk along the Mississippi provides color, texture and if especially lucky a wedding party oozing with expression!
And then there’s this! Oh my sweet goodness. Lakewood Chapel oh how I love you! Every surface of this intimate ceremony venue was a work of art. I could have photographed in here for another 8 hours but there was after all a reception to attend. This is definitely a venue worth visiting when you find yourself in need a little awe in your life.
Hello Personality… I mean Kelsey! Thank you for the many faces, they make me especially happy!
The self professed foodies that they are chose Spill the Wine for a family style feast. And it truly was a culinary masterpiece, dish after dish of goodness was passed around the table allowing guests to try old homestyle favorites and a few new oddities! The ambiance was buzzing with energy and laughter… and then there was the electrical fire in the parking lot…
I’m often asked for my best most crazy wedding story and aside from the father of the bride’s pants falling off during the processional [which was now that I think back, pretty fantastic], I’m usually at a loss. Alas, I have a story worthy of sharing. As the last course of dinner found it’s way around the tables the music cut, the lights went off and sparks rained down on the parking lot outside of the venue. Shortly thereafter the amazingly timely (and surprisingly gorgeous) Minneapolis Fire arrived on scene. Now I speak for myself when I say that it would be at this precise moment in time that bride Sally would have erupted in tears and found the nearest bathroom to have a meltdown in private. Or maybe 15 minutes later when I was informed the power would not be returned for the rest of the evening I would have run in the the middle of Lake Street screaming and yelling about my wedding being ruined and life being unfair. Thankfully for everyone at the corner of Lake and Bryant, Kelsey and Jason were the bride and groom that evening and not Sally!
Kelsey made few epic expressions in response to the lack of lights, air conditioning, ice, need I go on? But chose to dance her hot little fanny off until bar close. Any bride that freaks out the next time their florist swaps a rose where a peony is suppose to be ought to think back to the ability of Kelsey and Jason to make lemonade out of a rather lemony situation (be it spiked with an extra dose of vodka)!
I have to give a special shout out to possibly the best vendor involved in this evening, Acacia DJ (Mr. Brian Thompson) who in my opinion saved the evening with his party beats when he ran electrical to a neighboring shop and provided music for the candle lit venue. Well done friend!
xoxo.
