2007 was filled with such great blessing! I don’t know quite where or how to begin to summarize everything fabulous that happened. I’ll start with a gigantic THANK YOU!
I am absolutely amazed and blessed by each and every one of our clients of ’07. You may notice that I start every blog gushing over how much I loved the couple. Well, it was all true. I’m telling, you our clients are the best! Picking a photographer is such a fun part of your wedding planning. Sure the meetings and endless choices are overwhelming. But, in the end I think it’s one of the most personal vendor relationships you’ll have before, during, and after your wedding. I feel like I got to connect with each of my couples this year and they truly were remarkable people. I am blessed to have gotten the great honor of not only photographing them in one way or another but also knowing them. And if you’re one of them you better keep in touch!
Above is our 2007 holiday card. As you can see it was a busy year which is so great. La Vie shot 40 weddings and did almost that many portrait sessions. Let me make a sincere apology to some of you and say I’m so sorry if you have yet to be blogged. It is a matter of nothing more that Sally getting completely bogged down and backed up. There’s really no excuse, I know. But I must clarify that it is only my chaos that prevented me from getting everyone up here, not a sign of my affection for you! This winter I plan to display the couples and sessions formerly missed so stay tuned!
Professionally it this past year was a success. We stayed busy with weddings and portraits and managed to avoid any mishaps! That’s a major accomplishment in itself. La Vie grew in number by adding some amazing new assistant photographers that we’re thrilled to have back next year.
Personally 2007 was filled with… Everything!!! I never know how personal to get on the blog so I will keep it simple and summarize. In May I closed on a new house! It’s been so much fun tearing, gutting, painting, and re-doing this place into my home. I potentially got sucked into the homeownership frenzy a little bit. I know I have way too many receipts from the Home Depot and Ikea anyway! But I’m happy to say it’s home and I’m loving it in happy little Richfield. Shortly after the purchase of the house even bigger news came… a baby! It took 4 at home tests and 2 real live doctors appointments before I believed it true, a surprise to say the least! But, the greatest surprise of my life. I am so excited to hold my beautiful little boy in my arms come February. My pregnancy has increased my awe in and adoration for God. Carrying a child is such an amazing gift and an unfathomable miracle! It’s been a wonderful pregnancy and it seems like any day now he’ll be here. I’ve always been too impatient to enjoy surprises, I have to say this one is better than I could’ve dreamed or hoped for. Surly there will be much posting upon his arrival.
Overall its been a remarkable year. There’s been a share of hardships and lessons learned but ultimately I will remember 2007 for new corners turned, goals accomplished, trials endured, friendships tried true, grace & mercy in abundance and great anticipation for what is ahead.
Life is good and I am thankful to God, family, friends, and my La Vie peeps for all of it!
I’ve got big fun updates coming for 2008 so check in soon.
Wishing you more in this coming year!
Sally
